This book is a concise yet extremely beneficial explanation of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab’s famous Kitab al-Tawhid. As the title indicates, the book deals with the subject of worshipping Allāh alone without associating partners with Him. The author sheds light on many issues that have become commonplace among Muslims, even though they are acts of shirk, or associating partners with Allāh. This book stands out not only because of the importance of its subject matter, but also because of the methodology adopted by the author, for which he is well known. The reader will discover that most of the book consists of verses from the Qur’an, ahadith of the Prophet ﷺ, and statements of the early Muslims.
The explanation presented at the end of each chapter of Kitab al-Tawhid is by the renowned scholar Allamah Abd al-Rahman al-Sa‘di, who is counted among the great scholars of recent times. He was born in al-Qasim, Saudi Arabia, in the year 1307 AH and became engrossed in the pursuit of knowledge at an early age. His dedication and thirst for knowledge led him to become an authority in many of the Islamic sciences, as is clearly evident from the books he authored. He died in 1376 AH. May Allāh have mercy upon him.
