About the Author and Translator – Dr. Mustafa Khattab

Dr. Mustafa Khattab is a renowned Canadian-Egyptian scholar and expert in Quranic interpretation and Arabic linguistics. A graduate of Al-Azhar University, he holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. (Honours) in Islamic Studies in English and has taught Islam and Arabic at leading institutions including Al-Azhar University, Clemson University, and the University of Toronto.

Dr. Khattab is best known as the translator of the acclaimed The Clear Quran® and The Clear Quran® for Kids, both praised for their accessibility and clarity. He also authored The Clear Quran® Dictionary, Shukran, and several other works on Islamic thought and media.

Having memorized the entire Quran at a young age and obtained a professional ijazah in the Hafs style of recitation, Dr. Khattab has dedicated his career to making Quranic Arabic accessible to Muslims worldwide. He is a Fulbright Interfaith Scholar, a member of the Canadian Council of Imams, and has served as an Imam in both the U.S. and Canada.
