About the Translator – Dr. Mustafa Khattab

Dr. Mustafa Khattab is a Canadian-Egyptian scholar of the Quran and an internationally respected authority in Quranic interpretation. His lifelong dedication to the Qur’an includes:

• Memorization and Ijāzah: Memorized the entire Qur’an at a young age and obtained a professional ijâzah in the Ḥafṣ style of recitation, with an authentic chain of narrators tracing back to Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ.
• Education: Earned a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Islamic Studies (English) with Honors from Al-Azhar University, Faculty of Languages & Translation.
• Teaching Experience: Served as a Lecturer at Al-Azhar University for over a decade (since 2003), lectured on Islam at Clemson University (2009–2010), and worked as a Muslim Chaplain at Brock University (2014–2016) and University of Toronto Mississauga (2019–2021).
• Global Contributions: Member of the Canadian Council of Imams and a Fulbright Interfaith Scholar. Served as an Imam in both the U.S.A. and Canada since 2007.
